Ashley Norris is a 2007 graduate of Ohio University. A student of flute, piano, and guitar, Ashley also was the 2007 recipient of the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs Music Therapy Scholarship Award. She was first introduced to the profession of music therapy when her younger sister, who has Autism, began receiving music therapy in 2001. Once she saw the positive effects of music therapy with her sister she decided that she wanted to dedicate her life to improving the lives of other individuals with disabilities, as well as their families. She completed her music therapy internship at Helping Hands for Special Needs in Worthington, Ohio. She has been an employee of R-n-Y since March 2008. Ashley mostly works with children and adults with special needs, both privately and in the public school system. Additionally, Ashley has been the Assistant Marching Band director for the Berne Union high school marching band since 2004.
